Creative sewing: Quilting
WORKSHOPS > Creative sewing: Quilting
Description
Learn to sew in a creative and sustainable way, based on the Japanese technique “quilting”, a technique where through fabric scraps we create a new piece achieving different textures, prints, and transparencies.
Aimed at anyone with any level of sewing, who wants to learn how to use a flat sewing machine or wants to get into the world of quilting.
The workshop is divided into two blocks: a first introduction, where we will talk about the sewing machine, its uses and learn how to set it up to create. We will see what quilting is through very interesting references and discover all its possibilities.
In the second part of the class, we will put into practice the knowledge shown above and learn different stitching styles and combinations of transparencies.
Finally, we will put critical thinking aside and see how we are all creative and creative starting from something as small as a piece of fabric, and through quilting we will make a product that we can use in our everyday life.
